I'll take my daughter's iPhone 7 that needs a new battery and either sell it or turn it in for credit. My daughter will get my wife's iPhone 7 with the new battery to replace hers. My wife is jealous of my current iPhone XS's photo capabilities, so once she gets over the trauma of switching from fingerprint ID to face ID, she should be happy. It is also downright cheap when compared to the cost of an RF 15-35 f/2.8 lens. For getting shots wider than 24mm, the ultra-wide camera on the new phone will be better than using panorama mode on my current phone and easier than stitching multi-shot panoramas from my EOS R. My employer earmarks funds that I can spend on personal tech each year, which helps.
I GOT 2 PHONES VIDEO PRO
To meet that need within my budget, I'll be ordering a 12 Pro Max. I moonlight by selling my photos, so I want the best iPhone camera to go along with my EOS R (soon to be R6). It might be easiest to consider this: do you carry a camera and/or value image quality above all? Go with the Max. But if I'm already carrying around more gear, would the added size of the Max matter? If I valued image quality above all else, I may have chosen the Pro 12 Max, but that's a big "maybe." If I truly wanted to optimize my photography, I would likely be carrying a mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses - more agility and quality. I have never been able to comfortably use the Max line with one hand for a camera that is fine but for my phone, it is not. For me, the balance between quality and usability led to the 12 Pro. That said, I think it is important to appreciate what a device can and will be used for, and what we value most. What our modern phones can achieve really is quite remarkable. I love that our phones function as effective "EDC cameras" - it wasn't too long ago that we carried Canon PowerShots in another pocket.

I will be shooting a video of something far away, then get close to a subject and won't focus without me punching the screen several times to focus!!!! 12 Pro and Max fixes it. ultra-wide providing dismal low-light pixelated photos and video that makes me want to gag and the auto focus on 11 Pro and below when working with videos. in this case, the desired outcome of most photos that I do take.

So with life, it's oftentimes best to have the best tools in your toolbox provided they give you a return on your investment. However, going through a lot of my pictures with the 11 Pro, I see where I use the zoom lens a lot for close-up pictures that gets me the desired effect. IPhone 13 will have the updated X60 5G chip (current one is the X55) that is better for battery life and for picking up more 5G signals around the world.īased on the improvements, I was thinking of just going with the Mini for this year and then getting the ProMax for next year.
